Trey Rabon


Trey Rabon is currently state President, AT&T North Carolina, responsible for the company’s regulatory, economic development, legislative and community affairs activities in the state. He works closely with state and community leaders to help encourage private investment in next-generation broadband infrastructure, bring new technology jobs to the state, and improve the quality of life for all North Carolinians.

Trey brings a diverse background to the position, having joined AT&T’s predecessor company, BellSouth, in 1999. He initially served as a service consultant in the business marketing group, moving through positions of increasing responsibility before becoming a Senior Project Manager in the AT&T Global Business Services group in Columbia, SC. He moved to the External Affairs organization in 2008, representing AT&T in western Tennessee for five years. In 2013, he was appointed Director of External and Legislative Affairs for AT&T North Carolina, where he worked with members of the N.C. General Assembly and other public policymakers on issues impacting the state.

In addition to his responsibilities with AT&T, Rabon is a member of the Board of Directors of the NC Chamber of Commerce and YMCA of the Triangle. He is also a member of The Andrea Harris Social, Economic, Environmental, and Health Equity Task Force.

A native of Camden, SC, Rabon attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and a Master’s of Business Administration in International Business. He is a certified Project Management Professional accredited by the Project Management Institute and a 2015 graduate of Leadership North Carolina.

Rabon and his wife, Dawn, live in Wake Forest, NC, with their two children.

A sports enthusiast, he is passionate about University of South Carolina Gamecock athletics. He enjoys being a dad to his two children, spending time outdoors, and living life to the fullest.
