Session: Paving the Way for Contributions of All Kinds

We all know that code does not exist in a vacuum, and yet, in open source, the contributions that typically attract the most attention are centered around the code. The most successful and thriving projects not only make space for, but also elevate, recognize, and value other types of contributions.

In this talk, we’ll learn how CHAOSS brings together project managers, software developers, designers, technical writers, community managers, open source maintainers, professors, and researchers to build a well rounded and inclusive open source community where everyone has a place to contribute.

Learn how we identify, track, and surface contributions that do not exist in a PR, and how the onboarding process helps set our community members on the road to success.
