Red Hat Guides Users and Devs to a New Secure and AI Future

This year at All Things Open, Red Hat will be leading the conversations about open source, particularly in security and AI. We had many conversations about edge, automotive, and open source community building at our booth, and as always are so pleased with the incredible people we meet and the connections we make during our time here! We hope you are able to stop by the Red Hat booth while you are visiting. Here’s a quick roundup of the exciting topics we plan to highlight:

Security

What can we observe and reflect upon in technology that enabled the rising tide of security? As Red Hat continues to see experimentation and innovation within the open source ecosystem, new projects are emerging that go beyond singular notes and present security constructs arranged in measures together as useful capabilities. From zero-trust to community-oriented SBOM initiatives, Red Hat is constantly innovating with open source projects and methodologies and striving to deliver the safest software we can.

InstructLab

This year, we’re excited to be co-hosting an InstructLab Lounge with our partners at IBM to talk more about all things AI, including InstructLab, a recently announced project that enables contribution of skills to an existing model without the need to fully fork and fine-tune. This project establishes an upstream community built on contributing acceptance workflows for models. With Instructlab, communities and individuals can contribute domain knowledge to models incrementally, in a unified and open way, while reducing model variations and resulting in an improved version by augmenting what’s already there.

Development Platform

The Fedora Project is a free and open source software community project that produces a complete Linux-based operating system with editions tailored for specific usage, including tightly woven developer platforms with robust tools for coding and testing.
