OutSystems Forge: Fueling Open Source and Accelerating Low-Code Development
awefaeaw
The OutSystems Forge is an open-source repository of open-source modules, connectors, UI components, and technical solutions for the low-code OutSystems platform. With more than 7,000 available assets supported by OutSystems and the community, the Forge plays a pivotal role in the OutSystems ecosystem and is the fastest-growing low-code repository.
Open-source components in OutSystems are made possible by the platform’s unique modular and extensible architecture. This architecture allows developers to create and share independent modules that can seamlessly integrate with any OutSystems application. Each component, whether it’s a UI element, a connector to a third-party service, or a full feature, can be easily reused, customized, and extended without breaking the core application.
The platform’s architecture also supports integration with standard development languages like JavaScript and C#, making it highly flexible for developers to build solutions that are both robust and adaptable.
For the OutSystems community, the Forge is more than just a resource– it’s a symbol of collaboration. With a community size of more than 805k developers, OutSystems contributors from across the globe submit and maintain solutions and code that others can leverage. This fosters a sense of shared ownership and knowledge within the platform, encouraging innovation through open-source collaboration.
OutSystems is excited to have Craig St. Jean, Chief Technology Architect at Xebia and an OutSystems MVP, share more about the compatibility of the low-code and open-source ecosystems at All Things Open in his talk, “Open-Source Low-Code”. Make sure to check it out at this year’s event!
